From Brokenness to Belonging | Megan's Story

In October 2018, I walked into VFC no knowing how or if I'd be accepted. I was fresh out of a painful divorce, adjusting to the new normal of being a single mom, and had just moved from Owasso back to OKC in search of support from my family. I also knew I needed something more, a community where I felt safe. VFC welcomed me with open arms. There was no hint of judgement about my situation. I got plugged into a community of single moms, which connected me to other women, volunteering, small groups, and serving in my various areas with my son. I've grown in my faith with the VFC community, have been challenged and learned so much through small groups and pastors.
After being hurt from a church in the past, I was so hesitant, but VFC helped me to trust again. It took faith, trust, getting involved and connected in multiple ways. It has helped me better understand my mission as a Christian on this Earth. love God, love people, and help others come to know Him. We are all broken in need of a Savior and we need each other. Mentorship, accountability, connection, serving... VFC has helped me so much. I'm grateful to have found a church to call home.
