"I spiraled out of control..." | Scott & Alexis' Story
Scott’s story starts with more instability than most people can imagine. Abuse began before he was three, substance use came shockingly early, and by his late teens a serious accident and prescription pain pills sent him into addiction that quickly spiraled out of control. Even as relationships broke down and darkness closed in, he describes multiple moments where his life could have ended, but didn’t, and he now sees those as God intervening when he had no reason to expect mercy.
In 2017 he met Alexis, and her steady love became a turning point, even though he fought it at first. He mocked her faith, mocked Jesus, and kept trying to live life on his own terms, but everything kept collapsing. When they finally began attending Victory in late 2022, a single verse, Matthew 11:28, landed like it was written directly for him, and he felt seen for the first time. What followed wasn’t just a private decision, it became a new way of living, shaped by faith, community, and people who showed up when they needed it most, including through miscarriage and grief. To hear how Scott’s “come to God” moment actually unfolded, and what changed in their family because of it, watch Scott and Alexis’ full story on YouTube.
