Closing the Deal, Opening Our Hearts | Kyle & Cayla's Story

My husband and I attended one of the campaign events. We were both raised in church and knew what was coming. My grandpa was a pastor and had run four campaigns back in his day, so I walked in very aware that this was an event to set the stage for sacrificial giving. We were ready and excited to hear about what the plans were for growing Victory Family Church. My husband and I run a business together. A couple of weeks before the event we submitted an offer to lease a new space for our business. Renting a larger space is high risk because our industry can have highs and lows. We hadn't heard back since submitting our offer. But right before we walked into the room, I received the text - "Your offer has been accepted". I was excited but torn. "How can we lease the new office and give more to the church?". I remember this so clearly, as we were walking back to our seats, I looked up at my husband and said - "I guess we can't give as much to the church as we had hoped." He looked at me surprised and said - "No this means we need to give more."

I just felt peace, and an agreement in my heart. We look back at that moment of being given two opportunities at the same time and just know it was God opening the door to build our trust in Him, to convict us of our lack of faith in the past, and move us forward with confidence that God's going to take care of us no matter the outcome.
